12 schools reopening — Kherson Oblast

EU-funded school reconstruction program targets 12 schools across Kherson city and Beryslav raion for reopening by September 2026. Contracts awarded; construction begins April 2026.

Kakhovka irrigation network mapping — complete

FAO and UNOSAT completed a joint mapping of the Kakhovka irrigation network damage across Kherson Oblast. 68% of irrigation channels require reconstruction; 14 pumping stations destroyed. Data now available on HDX.

Kherson River Port — structural assessment published

International engineering consortium published a detailed structural assessment of the Kherson River Port facilities. Assessment covers 7 berths, 3 warehouse complexes, and the grain elevator. Reconstruction estimated at $340M; Phase 1 feasibility study funded by EBRD.

Kherson Regional Hospital — emergency ward reconstruction

IRC completed reconstruction of the emergency ward at Kherson Regional Hospital, including new electrical systems, HVAC, and medical gas installations. The facility now serves 400+ patients per month.

Rapid repair of 320 residential units — Kherson city center

UNDP-funded rapid repair program completed winterization works on 320 apartments in the central district, restoring windows, roofing, and heating systems ahead of the winter season.

Emergency water supply network restored — 3 districts

UNICEF partnered with local utility Khersonvodokanal to restore water supply to approximately 45,000 residents in Dniprovskyi, Korabelny, and Suvorovskyi districts, replacing destroyed pumping stations and main pipes.

Kakhovka dam area debris clearance — Phase 1

FAO-coordinated debris removal operation cleared approximately 12km of the Dnipro riverbank in the Nova Kakhovka flood zone. Phase 1 focused on agricultural land access routes required for the 2026 planting season.
